Tonurile limbii chineze

Limba chineza este o limba tonala. Tonul este un morfem suprasegmental, ce diferentiaza ca sens silabele.
Schema tonala.

Marcarea grafica a tonurilor in transcrierea fonetica:


mā má mǎ mà


tonul 1 reprezentat grafic ca o liniuta orizontala “-“ plasata deasupra vocalei, face astfel incit silaba sa se pronunte la un nivel inalt, constant;


tonul 2 reprezentat ca o linie oblica inclinata spre dreapta, in sens ascendent, “/”, induce o pronuntie urcatoare, asemanatoare unui ton al mirarii;


tonul 3, reprezentat ca un ”u” mic, coboara si apoi urca, dar nu ajunge atit de sus precum finalul tonului 2;


tonul 4, marcat ca o linie oblica inclinata tot spre dreapta dar in sens descendent ”\” induce o pronuntie coboritoare, ca un final de afirmatie.
